Afterword Café at Fullers
Hobart’s iconic Fullers Bookshop has been at the forefront of the city’s cultural and literary life since it open in 1920. In 1996 Fullers opened the Afterword Café on the mezzanine level of the Collins Street store with the theory that books and coffee were a natural mix and and the decision was a popular one.
For the last 7 years Susan Holligan from Passion Pot, a small Tasmanian owned company has been suppling the café with soup and puts her success down to the fact that all Passion Pot foods are made with Love and filled with Passion.
While there is a wide variety of things on offer at the café, the people in the know come for the soups. Filled with the goodness and wholesomeness of beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, superfoods and a whole lot of fresh, locally sourced organic vegetables. Gluten and dairy free, and vegetarian, the soups are freshly made and are perfect for any meal of the day. Also extremely popular are the raw treats that are all the rage at the moment. Maca powder and raspberry raw balls are a delicious addition to school lunches or for grown ups on the go. They allow you to have a natural ‘sweet’ fix and are ideal for breakfast or as a pre-workout snack without the guilt! The slow energy release of maca powder combined with the goodness of nuts and fruit, along with Susan’s special ingredients of love and passion are what make these taste so great.
