Faces of Launceston

Faces of Launceston is a project that I started in 1995, and over the last 23 years we have had 8 exhibitions , the last one being a major exhibition and book at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. Looking at various aspects of life in this city, and using the people who live and work here as a means of expressing the character and soul of Australia’s third oldest city.

Families who want to celebrate their uniqueness and be a part of the new Faces of Launceston exhibition.

Proudly supporting
Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal and Winter Relief Appeal

Families come in all shapes and sizes.

While there are the typical Mum + Dad + 2.4 kids families, there are also so many other different combinations that make up a family. Blended versions of the Brady Bunch, single parent families, same-sex families and everything in between. This is a project I am really looking forward to getting in to.

This year we are proud to have the opportunity to partner with the wonderful team at the Examiner to raise funds for those who need a little help. We want to celebrate what it means to belong to a family and we need your help.

By booking in your family for a photoshoot and participating in this project you’ll be supporting Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal ,your family will also be included in our ongoing Faces Of Launceston Project, and  you can also end up with some awesome images of your family to display on your wall!

We know your life is busy and we understand that time goes by so quickly. This is a great opportunity to have some beautiful and meaningful portraits made of your family before the kids grow up and move out. We would love to invite you to apply to be a part of this project.

How does the project work?

1) Complete the form below to apply to be part of our project, we will want to know a little about your family!

2) We will contact you to make a time for your planning appointment. Your planning appointment is a 15-20 minute chat with Phil about your family and how we can personalise your photos. Finding out more about you and your family, helps us to create the best portraits possible for you and for the project.

3) We book in your shoot in the diary. This can be for anytime in the next 6 months  but we will ask you to pay your $100 participation fee at this time. This $100 is donated directly to the Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal. This locks in your session time and it covers all of your appointments, and guarantees that an image of your family will be included in our exhibition, and a double page spread in the book that we will be producing to celebrate the project.

4) You will have a fun relaxed photoshoot where we will capture a range of images that celebrate the uniqueness and individuality of your family.

5) A few days later, you will come back into the studio for the slideshow presentation of your images. There is no obligation to purchase photos, but we know you will love them and want to display them in your home. This will be your opportunity to purchase photos if you like and you can help us choose the image that will be featured in the exhibition. To thank you for your participation we’ll also give you $100 credit towards prints or wall art you would like to order from your session.

6) Once we have finished all the shoots, we’ll hold an exhibition of the best images (at least one of each participant) somewhere in Launceston. We’ll keep you posted on that one!

There is a $100 participation fee to be a part of this project - this is donated in full to Examiner Empty Stocking Appeal.
We will, in turn, credit you with $100 towards any prints you would like to purchase from your shoot.
Every family will have an image featured in our exhibition once the project is complete.

Can't get the family together but still want to help??

Why not donate a session fee to a family that might not otherwise get involved. You can nominate people that you know, or we can choose a family that would like to be included. You pay the $100 donation and we will do the shoot, give them a credit and include them in the exhibition and book.
Fill out the form and tell us what you would like to do and we will be in touch.
