Solo Pasta and Pizza

Best friends since prep school, Simon Robustelli and Dimitri Giovanoglou became business partners in 2008. An extensive renovation for Solo in 2012 has resulted in a comfortable 120 seater restaurant, however Solo is still the 'local Italian' it was when born over 30 years ago.



With Simon running the front of house, ensuring that glasses are filled and diners are enjoying themselves, head chef Dimitri is running the kitchen. Their dynamic personalities ensure that their vibrant team of 30 keep up with the tempo and ensure that each and every diner has the best possible experience. Beautiful bright colour images of Italy set the scene, and the banter and buzz around the restaurant complement the Italian influenced cuisine, with pizza and pasta and the flavours of the Mediterranean.



With a view to sourcing their produce locally, they look for the best Tasmanian meats, and support local farmers by using a local and independent fruit and veg wholesaler. 
Fresh seafood is delivered daily, ensuring that the very best that Tasmania has to offer makes its way onto their customers plates.



There is no doubt that the team at Solo Pasta & Pizza love their customers and the feeling is mutual! When the tables are filled and diners are eating, drinking and laughing, the restaurant comes alive. On any given night, over 80% of the diners in the restaurant are regulars, they come back because Simon and Dimitri and their staff know are they are the heart and soul of the restaurant and do everything they can make them feel like they are the only ones that matter.
