Mures Upper Deck

Mures Upper Deck à-la-carte restaurant, located in Hobart’s working fishing port at Victoria Dock, is the flagship of a group of companies founded by George & Jill Mure over forty years ago. In 1973, Jill and George Mure opened Tasmania’s first licenced seafood restaurant and when they struggled to source quality, fresh, local seafood, George went fishing. Now, more than 40 years on, their son Will and his wife Jude proudly continue the tradition.

Mures Upper Deck is spacious, offers expansive dockside views and proudly celebrates being an iconic Tasmanian family business, from the amazing local artworks to the extensive wine list highlighting many of Tasmania’s best. The menu features the finest of local produce and some of the freshest seafood in Tasmania. They can state this categorically because much of the fish served is line-caught on their own purpose built long liner, the Diana. 
Mures is a true, 100% vertically integrated, hook-to-plate business who source, process, prepare, sell and cook their own seafood. 

The Mure family’s passion for the ocean, Tasmania and their business is ever strong. Any day of the week you will find Jude and Will, working alongside their staff, and by concentrating on quality, freshness and local seafood they have contributed considerably to the successful development of the Tourism industry in Tasmania, while still ensuring that they are very much part of the local community. With three children now involved in the family business, the ethos and traditions that George first created are assured.
