Cultura Espresso Bar & Restaurant

Opened December 2010 by Luke Rocchia and two previous partners, Cultura was designed to offer a warm and inviting venue for city workers and shoppers to enjoy quality breakfasts and lunches. Luke took sole ownership in January 2013 and decided to introduce dinner service on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings to Cultura’s repertoire. 



Using the finest produce from local farmers and fishmongers, combined with quality Italian small goods and cheeses, the restaurant focuses on traditional Italian cooking. The menu provides sharing options, traditional thin-based pizzas, and fresh pasta dishes including house-made gnocchi with their extensive wine list focusing on Tasmanian and Italian wines. Their alfresco dining area, in the midst of the newly developed Liverpool Street, is a perfect place to watch the busy city pass you by. 



From the very first step inside the door you are seduced. For many, its the award winning coffee, or the front display fridge full of house-made Italian sweets and biscotti, with one of the finest Tiramisu in town. For everyone, it's that fact that you are welcomed like family, a feeling that is enhanced by the wonderful black and white photographs on the walls of the restaurant that signify the boys’ European upbringing, culture and the hospitable way of life that was instilled in them by their parents and grandparents who came here from Italy in the 60's and 70's.



Luke and his team have created a place to escape the hustle of the CBD which combines beautiful Italian food, with a sense of family and belonging. You don’t have to be there for very long to realise that both the staff and the customers treat each other like old friends who have dropped in for a coffee, a bite to eat or a chat.
