Wineglass Bay Sail Walk

The Wineglass Bay Sail Walk provides the opportunity to discover some of Tasmania’s most iconic East Coast regions from two perspectives; on foot and by sea. On the Tasmanian Walking Company’s 4-day itinerary, you will explore the Freycinet Peninsula and the stunning Maria Island. On the 6-day itinerary, we add the remote Tasman Peninsula to the list.

Step aboard the beautiful 21 metre (75 foot) ketch rigged Lady Eugenie, to cruise from one superb Tasmanian walking destination to another.

The yacht is stable, safe and comfortable for both novices and sailing enthusiasts. Her clipper bow, complete with a walkable bowsprit, is perfect for watching dolphins and other marine life.

There’s nothing more exhilarating than turning off her engine, relaxing and harnessing the power of the wind in her sails.

From the decks of the Lady Eugenie, you will take in the spectacular sea-cliffs, pink granite mountain peaks and ample marine wildlife. Each day you get the opportunity to step off the boat into another one of these remarkable landscapes. You will hike to mountain tops previously admired from the sea, meander through heathland or trek along wild coastal cliffs. Alternatively, some opt for the ‘cruisier’ choice and simply relax aboard the yacht or head to the beach with a book or a snorkel.

Each night, you will retire to the uncomplicated luxury of the yacht, where your guides prepare a spectacular 3-course dinner served with a selection of Tasmanian wine. Weather permitting, you could enjoy the relaxed settings of a barefoot beach dinner under the stars. Regardless, there is bountiful time to soak up the unique and magnificent scenery, including the opportunity to wiggle your toes in the white sands of the iconic Wineglass Bay.

The beauty of the experience truly lies in the unexpected; no itinerary is set in stone, the journey is flexible and may surprise you. What is guaranteed is that you will be immersed in your surroundings with the opportunity to take them in from various perspectives. By combining land and sea, you’ll build an intimate connection with the environment around you, and the views are sure to be etched into your memory for years to come.
