Tamar Ridge Cellar Door

The Tamar Ridge winery and vineyards are located at Kayena close to the dramatic Tasmanian north coast and Bass Strait. First planted in 1994 the vineyard focuses on the two wine styles that define Tasmania, namely Sparkling wine and Pinot Noir.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are crafted into the acclaimed Pirie Tasmania label comprising a Non-Vintage, Vintage, Rosé and Blanc de Blanc. Made in the traditional method these wines age for many years on their lees before being released and are the epitome of the vibrant and richly flavoured styles of sparkling wine that are making such a name for Tasmania.

Pinot Noir is grown in a variety of locations on the vineyard and made into a number of different styles depending on the site, clone and different winemaking practices. In any given vintage there can be over 30 parcels of Pinot Noir made in the traditional open top fermenters that will then be placed into French oak barrels to rest and mature prior to bottling.

Further down the Tamar Valley the Tamar Ridge Cellar Door is located high on the hill above Rosevears and takes in the spectacular views of the ranges to the east of the Tamar and the mountains that circle Launceston where the North and South Esk and Tamar Rivers meet.

The full range of Pirie Sparkling and Tamar Ridge wines are available for tasting along with a selection of Pinots that have been aging in the cellars and are made available exclusively to visitors to the cellar door.

Recently Tamar Ridge has teamed up with acclaimed local chefs Hubert and Dan to provide a daily selection of platters featuring locally sourced cheeses, charcuterie and house cured fish, all highlighting the flavours and seasonal variations of the Tamar Valley and greater Tasmania.  They can cater for your event at the Tamar Ridge cellar door by tailoring a French inspired menu that is modern, elegant and innovative, complemented by simple, relaxed and unobtrusive service.
