Makers Workshop

The Makers Workshop provides a truly unique setting to enjoy local wines and a menu that boasts some of the best local produce the North West coast has to offer.

With one of the best views in the complex, the Cafe has a panoramic view from the industrial heritage of the working port of Burnie around to the picturesque view of West Beach which epitomises the laid back lifestyle that Burnie enjoys. The Cafe boasts an extensive menu based on local produce. Helen Halee, the head chef likes to experiment with a range of menu options to suit everyone’s needs. Vegan and vegetarian options are always available but for the carnivores, the café features some of the best Angus beef and free range pork from the area .

The café offers everything from biscuits and paleo balls, to breakfast and main meals. Even the coffee that they serve is locally roasted.

The Makers Workshop is also home to a specialty cheese shop and The Makers Pantry. The cheese shop features locally produced cheeses which is carefully matured and selected to ensure tastings on the day are at their premium and there is nothing better than to take your favourites home with you. To accompany your cheese purchase, The Makers Pantry has a range of high quality local produce that include pastes, jams, relishes, wines, and chocolates. The café utilises as much as possible from the pantry and cheese shop to showcase the great produce.

The Makers Workshop also has a retail section selling a range of quality handmade items by some of the best Tasmanian producers and growers, crafts people and artisans in the region.
