Situated in a federation-style building in the centre of town, Bushman’s Cafe was the first venture for husband and wife team Steve Bennett and Leslie Price when they moved to Tasmania from the mainland.

A career chef with extensive experience both in Australia and South East Asia, Steve’s vision was to use the abundant local produce in a way that makes the ingredients the hero. Wherever possible, everything used at Bushman's has been sourced directly from specialised local growers and producers on the West Coast of Tasmania. You can select fresh seafood in season directly from the live tanks, or enjoy the perfectly cooked steak, or just drop in for a quick snack of freshly baked cake or scones.

Bushman's is fully licensed and offers a range of award-winning Tasmanian wines including Stefano Lubiano, Josef Chromy, and Holm Oak, as well as beers and spirits.

At Bushman's they are serious about their coffee and the service is friendly and professional.

Filled with sunlight during the day, and cosy and warm at night, the cafe is comfortable and you don't feel crowded. Outdoor seating is also available on the deck or under the veranda to capture the views and ambiance of Strahan and the harbour.

Bushman's also has three well-appointed, spacious, self-contained suites on the upper level. The rooms offer great views over the harbour and town centre and are the perfect base from which to explore the area. If you are going on the Gordon River Cruise, the departure point is directly outside your front door.
