ye olde green grocer

When Andrew and Garth were persuaded by wives Lisa and Jeanette to give up careers in commercial fishing and pursue a different line of work, no one expected that they would end up becoming vegos!  The ex-market garden that they bought in Dilston had been operating since the Second World War and was the start of a very successful operation to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to the Launceston market.

Today the Ye Olde Greengrocer on Charles Street is as important to the Launceston public as any retail outlet. Over the years they have developed a reputation for having the best produce in town. Their clean green, pesticide free policy has been an important way of differentiating themselves from the rest.

Having the biggest range of produce has always been important, and their customers know that along with the extensive range, is a clear knowledge of where the food comes from, how it was produced and how it can be best used.

While fresh Tasmanian produce is a vital aspect of this business, with products such as Yorktown Organics fine range of organically grown produce always in stock, they also source seasonal fruit and vegetables from around the country. So if you are looking for the best of tropical summer fruit like mangos or pineapples, Ye Olde Greengrocer is the place to visit. They also stock a wonderful array of other local produce such as honey, preserves, and oils.

Stocking the best of local and nationally produced fruit and vegetables this family run, home grown business is really worth a visit.
