westhaven dairy

Award-winning Westhaven Dairy began life as a dairy goat stud farm run by Geoff and Lorraine Mance in the late sixties, located in the rich fertile Tamar Valley region of Northern Tasmania. Over the years the stud evolved from being a small supplier of goat’s milk to becoming a manufacturer of quality specialty Tasmanian cow and goat milk yoghurts and cheeses.

Westhaven began manufacturing in Launceston in 1993, sourcing its milk from farms located in the clean environs of Northern Tasmania and producing award-winning quality products that are synonymous with small Australian boutique dairy manufacturers.

The business continues to grow and evolve at the behest of market demands and Westhaven imagination; making products as diverse as soft and subtle French style cheese (Chèvre) to Paneer for the Indian restaurant market.

Westhaven produces award-winning goat and cow yoghurt; silky and creamy varieties. They also produce Goat Chèvre and Fetta, in both flavoured and marinated varieties; and Cow Fetta, Paneer, Quark and Haloumi.

Westhaven Dairy has received many Gold, Silver and Bronze awards from 1998 to 2013 from the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania Wrest Point Hobart Fine Food Awards with its crowning achievement coming in 2012. Of the 14 products entered that year, 13 won medals, including six gold. Goat Natural Yoghurt won Champion of its class and Natural Chèvre was Reserve Champion.

The staff at Westhaven Dairy take great pride in producing handmade quality products that reflect the best produce that Tasmania has to offer.
