Established in 2009, Van Dieman Brewing is a family owned and locally operated craft brewery, nestled amongst century-old English Oak trees just outside the historic northern Tasmanian town of Evandale.  Van Dieman brews with dedication, passion and hard work, utilising Tasmania’s pristine natural resources. All beers are crafted from only the freshest ingredients, most grown within Tasmania.

Van Dieman Brewing is dedicated to delivering fresh, progressive and unique beers directly to you, in the process unveiling some of the world’s classic beer styles. The beers are completely natural, do not undergo filtration or pasteurisation, and are 100 per cent preservative and additive free.

Owner Will Tatchell not only focuses on producing some consistently terrific beers, but he likes to have a bit of fun through experimentation and ingredients perhaps not normally associated with beer production. Through the new Mash Up series of beers, Will continues to evolve and push the boundaries of beer experimentation through a collection of collaborative brews with local Tasmanian primary producers.

Beers, such as the barrel-aged sour ale, Hedgerow, have been internationally recognised as being a world-class example of this ground-breaking style. A portion of this beer spends time in French oak barrels and is aged on a combination of Rose hips, Sloe and Hawthorn berries – all sourced from hedgerows on the brewery property.
