the cherry shed

The Cherry Shed has evolved over the past 12 years from a roadside stall selling fresh cherries into an open all year showcase of every possible use for cherries.

Each year has seen an expansion of the premises and the product range. An opportunity was identified by the owners to market their fresh cherries direct to the public with a focus on taste rather than supermarket driven appearance.

The products are all made from their own or other local growers fruit on site. Products such as jams, sauces and liqueurs are made from the very ripe fruit which gives them an intense cherry flavour. Tasting is encouraged of all the products prior to purchase by the knowledgeable staff who are very willing to help, recommend and answer questions on anything to do with cherries or the products.

The Cherry Shed Café was started in the seventh season and is now a significant and popular part of the business. The menu features many cherry themed items such as the beef and cherry wine pie, cherry pancakes, scones with cherry jam and the cherry and apple pie. It is a popular café with locals and tourists and booking is recommended in summer and on weekends throughout the year.

One of the most appealing features of the Cherry Shed is the constant evolution of the business which leaves regular visitors asking what will they do next. The quirky cherry themed artwork such as the tree in the centre of the café which is made of cherry pits or the giant fibre-glass cherries are popular attractions.

Cherry merchandise, cherry ice-cream, cherry liqueur, cherry everything, what will be next?
