Pierre's, established in 1956 is a truly iconic brasserie, wine & whiskey bar located in the heart of Launceston's CBD. It continues to win award after award, but is very proud to now hold five consecutive Australian Good Food Guide 'Chefs Hats' 2011 - 2015. It also flies a significant history flag, being Tasmania's first coffee house, second oldest in Australia. As well as the food, their coffee is great, but you would expect that after over half a century of baristing.

Today, Pierre's is locally owned and operated by the Birchmore Family together with their dedicated front of house and kitchen team. The majority are Launcestonians, who take great pride in delivering top quality fresh local produce with a smile. The Menu is inspired from modem european classics, adding their own twist here and there. It offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere throughout the day, and at night transports itself into one of the 'Where to Be' places for a friendly elegant brasserie experience.

Head Chef Jonathan Barnard, steers a tight kitchen crew of eight. They use seasonal ingredients, locally produced and sourced (where and when possible) which sees about four menu changes throughout the year.

The Pierre's 'Classic Dishes' however always remain, being the strong backbone of the menu. Those Classics include French Onion Soup with toasted gruyere cheese croutes, Escargot in their shell with garlic, champagne, shallot & parsley butter, Spring Bay Mussel Moules Mariniere, Steak Tartare with/without cognac, Duck aL'orange with house orange glaze, Hung & Aged Cape Grim Scotch Fillet with fries, red wine jus and Café de Paris butter. Delicious!

When in Launceston be sure to visit Pierre's - pop in for a coffee, a glass of wine or maybe an icy cold Boags - its a great place to recharge.
