If cities were just building materials, they would be the same the world over. The individual life, character and flavour of a city comes from its people.
Every town has its characters, celebities, villains and heroes - this collection has representatives of all of these groups but its often the ‘ordinary’ people who turn out to be extraordinary.
Faces of Launceston is a project by Tasmania's only Grand Master of Photography, Philip Kuruvita that celebrates the people who live and work in this city. Over the course of the last 20 years, Kuruvita has photographed almost 500 people and celebrated their contribution to the progress of the city in 6 major exhibitions.
This book is a catalogue for the most recent exhibition of 100 portraits held at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Inveresk in 2015 but also contains all the images from the previous Faces of Launceston exhibitions.
This book is softcover, 128pgs, duotone black and white, 240 mm x 210 mm landscape format.
